4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

- Clerk – Identity and authentication management.
- Supabase – Secure database storage for your vocabulary and settings.
- Google (Gemini API) – AI text processing, routed exclusively through our secure server proxy. Your data is never sent directly from your browser to Gemini.
- Vercel – Hosting and deployment infrastructure.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at rapsanza@gmail.com.
6. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS, encrypted database connections, and server-side API proxying to protect your data. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete such information from our records.

Chrome Extension Privacy Policy (Lumyna - Dual Subtitles for YouTube)
In addition to the general policies above, Lumyna - Dual Subtitles for YouTube adheres to the following supplementary rules, in compliance with the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies.
Data Collection from YouTube
We intercept subtitle text from YouTube videos you are actively watching, solely to provide translation and language learning assistance features (dual subtitles, dictionary lookup, Practice Mode). This subtitle data is not stored permanently on our serversunless you explicitly press the "Save" button to add a word or sentence to your personal Wordbook.
Microphone Access
The Practice Mode feature requires access to your microphone. Your voice recordings are processed in real-time for AI-powered pronunciation assessment. Voice data is not stored or shared with any third party after the assessment process is complete.
Cookie Usage
We use cookies from the domain lumyna-xi.vercel.app exclusively for the purpose of syncing vocabulary data you choose to save to your dashboard account. No cross-site tracking cookies are used.
API Key Security
The Gemini API key is never exposed to the client or the browser extension. All AI-related requests from the extension are routed through our secure server-side proxy (lumyna-xi.vercel.app/api/gemini), ensuring the key remains confidential and cannot be extracted by third parties.
No Ads & No Data Sales
We guarantee that your learning activity data captured by the extension — including words looked up, subtitles viewed, and practice sessions — will never be sold to advertisers or any third party. Our business model does not rely on data monetization.
Permissions Justification
The extension requests the following browser permissions, each with a specific purpose:
storage– To save your language preferences and vocabulary data locally.cookies– To sync your saved vocabulary with your dashboard account on lumyna-xi.vercel.app.microphone(optional) – Only requested when you actively use the Practice Mode voice feature.https://www.youtube.com/*– To intercept subtitle network requests from YouTube for rendering dual subtitles.
